APFT
Army Physical Fitness Test
The APFT is a three-event physical performance test
used to assess muscular endurance and
cardiorespiratory (CR) fitness.  It is a simple way to
measure your ability to effective move your body by
using your major muscle groups and the CR system.
The events are as follows:

Push-ups(PU)                Sit-ups(SU)                2 Mile Run(2MR)

In order to successfully pass the APFT, an individual has
to score a minimum of 60 pts in EACH area.  For
example, if an individual scores 65pts in the PU, 70 pts in
the SU, and 67 pts on the 2MR for a total of 202 pts he has
passed the APFT.  However, if a an individual scores 95
pts on the PU, 87 pts on the SU and 59 pts on the 2MR for a
total of 241 pts, he has failed the test because he/she did
not achieve 60 pts on the 2MR.
